The course examines the various structural models of social-purpose organizations, based on assumptions about purpose, power and authority, social justice, complexity, and leadership. Explores the role of organizational culture in social-purpose organizations as it influences employee expectations, horizontal structures, and rewards that go beyond monetary reimbursement. Social-purpose organizations seek to align values and expectations among managers, board, and donors while being sensitive to community expectations, all within an environment that values transparency and respect.
